Post 10 Military Museum
The American Legion Post 10 has an expanded Military Museum called the "Purple Heart Room" at Bunkers Restaurant and Tribute Golf in Wausau. Past Commander Bob Weller and Honor Guard Commander John Pellegrino were responsible for creating the expanded educational museum.
The museum features an extensive display of military equipment, uniforms, flags, and photos from World War I to the present day, each with a connection to central Wisconsin, and with a central Wisconsin story. Several key museum features include large displays from John “Doc” Bradley, the original flag raiser on Iwo Jima; Richard “Dick” Dudley’s memorabilia and a large hand carved eagle carved and painted by James F. McCain, founder of Eagles for Veterans from Portland, Maine.
Questions about the displays can be directed to Commander Tony Nardi at commander@wausaupost10.com or Honor Guard Commander John Pellegrino at 715-581-5210.
